TAIGA TAKAHASHI GARRISON BELT

타카하시의 수집품 중 하나였던 North & Judd 사의 1940년대 버클을 기반으로 밸런스를 재설계하였다. North & Judd 사는 원래 마구(馬具)를 제조하던 회사였으나, 경제 발전과 함께 다양한 액세서리 부품을 생산하게 되었다. ‘Garrison’은 ‘수비대’를 의미하며, 과거 군대나 경찰이 착용했던 데서 ‘Garrison Belt’라는 이름이 붙었다. 겉은 검정이지만 내부는 갈색인 ‘차심(茶芯) 가공’을 거친 소가죽을 사용하였기 때문에, 사용할수록 겉의 검정색이 벗겨지며 속의 갈색이 드러나고, 그로 인해 경년 변화의 아름다움을 즐길 수 있다. 소재의 특성상, 이염이나 색 빠짐이 발생할 수 있다.

タカハシ氏のコレクションの一つであった North & Judd 社の1940年代のバックルをもとに、バランスを再設計した。North & Judd 社はもともと馬具を製造していた会社であったが、経済発展とともにさまざまなアクセサリーパーツを生産するようになった。「Garrison（ギャリソン）」とは「守備隊」を意味し、かつて軍や警察などが着用していたことから「Garrison Belt」と呼ばれている。外側は黒だが内側は茶色の「茶芯」加工を施した牛革を使用しており、使うほどに表面の黒が擦れて内側の茶色が現れ、経年変化の美しさを楽しむことができる。素材の特性上、色移りや退色が起こる場合がある。

The balance has been redesigned based on a 1940s buckle from North & Judd, one of Takahashi’s personal collection items. North & Judd was originally a harness manufacturer but began producing various accessory parts as the economy developed. The term “Garrison” means “a defense unit,” and the belt takes its name from those worn by the military and police. The leather used is chashin (tea-core) cowhide—black on the surface with a brown core—so with use, the black layer gradually fades, revealing the brown underneath, allowing the wearer to appreciate the beauty of aging over time. Due to the nature of the material, some color transfer or fading may occur.
