이탈리아 MARYAM사의 최고급 호스버트 레더 ‘클라스’를 사용하여 제작한 엔지니어 샌들입니다. 1950년대 엔지니어 부츠를 레퍼런스로 삼아, 부츠의 샤프트(筒) 부분을 제거하고 텅의 자연스러운 들림, 벨트 조임 구조, 둥글게 말린 독특한 토 쉐입 등을 재설계하였습니다. 아웃솔은 Vibram사의 #705 Twigum 하프 솔을 덧댄 더블 솔 구조로 완성되었습니다. 20세기 초 미국의 석유 노동자와 엔지니어를 위해 탄생한 엔지니어 부츠의 정신을 계승하면서도, 보다 자유롭고 가벼운 착용 방식을 제안하는 이 모델은 현대를 살아가는 ‘엔지니어’들을 위한 한 켤레입니다。

An engineer sandal crafted from “Class,” the highest-quality horse butt leather by Italy’s MARYAM. Based on 1950s engineer boots, the shaft has been removed and key elements such as the raised tongue, belt tightening structure, and the uniquely rounded toe shape have been carefully reinterpreted. The outsole features a double sole construction with a Vibram #705 Twigum half sole applied. While inheriting the spirit of engineer boots originally developed for American oil workers and engineers in the early 20th century, this piece proposes a freer, lighter way of wearing—designed for the modern-day “engineers.”
