1950–60년대의 젊은 문화에서 영감을 받은 이 티셔츠는 몸에 자연스럽게 맞는 형태를 기반으로, 여유로운 분위기 속에서도 실루엣을 강조하도록 설계되었습니다. 일본 와카야마 지역에서 전통적인 루프휠 편직기로 제작된 100% 코튼 원단을 사용하여, 저속·저장력 편직을 통해 면 본연의 부드러움과 탄성을 유지하면서도 적당한 밀도와 가벼움을 동시에 갖추고 있습니다. 서로 다른 굵기의 실을 혼합한 ‘하반테(破番手)’ 방식으로 자연스러운 불균일한 표면과 깊이 있는 질감을 형성하며, 착용과 세월의 흐름에 따라 더욱 입체적인 표정으로 변화합니다. 1930년대 구조 중심의 패턴에서 비롯된 스트레이트 숄더 구조(여성사이즈)와 바디 원단으로 구성된 넥 라인은 착용 시 자연스러운 흐름을 만들고, 전통적인 ‘텐치 봉제’ 기반의 싱글 니들 구조는 시간이 지나며 미세한 비틀림과 퍼커링을 형성합니다. 또한 일본의 수작업 프린팅 기법인 ‘테나센’을 적용하여 각각의 제품마다 미묘한 차이를 담아내며, 완벽하게 정제되지 않은 자연스러운 불균형 속에서 오히려 균형을 찾는, 오래도록 간직할 수 있는 제품으로 완성되었습니다.

1950〜60年代のティーンカルチャーから着想を得た本作は、身体に自然に沿うフォルムを基に、リラックスした雰囲気の中でシルエットを引き立てるよう設計されています。和歌山で伝統的な吊り編み機を用いて編み立てた100%コットン生地は、低速・低テンションで編まれることで、コットン本来の柔らかさと弾力を保ちながら、適度な重みと軽やかさを併せ持ちます。異なる番手の糸を混ぜる「破番手」により、自然なムラ感と奥行きのある表情が生まれ、着用を重ねるごとにさらに豊かな質感へと変化していきます。1930年代の構造重視のカッティングを反映したストレートショルダー構造と、ボディ生地で構成されたネックラインは、着用時に自然な流れを生み出します。伝統的な天地縫製によるシングルニードル構造は、時間の経過とともにわずかなねじれやパッカリングを生み、また手捺染によるプリントは一点ごとに微細な個体差を持ちます。完全に整えられた均一性ではなく、自然な不均衡の中にあるバランスを大切にし、長く着用し続けることを前提に作られた一着です。

Inspired by the youth culture of the 1950s–60s, this T-shirt is designed to follow the natural shape of the body while emphasizing silhouette within a relaxed attitude. The fabric is a 100% cotton jersey knitted in Wakayama, Japan on traditional loopwheel machines, operating at low speed and low tension to preserve the cotton’s inherent softness and elasticity while maintaining both substance and airiness. A “Habante” (broken count yarn) technique blends yarns of different counts, creating subtle irregularities and a rich surface texture that develops further character over time. The straight shoulder construction, rooted in 1930s structure-first pattern making, and the collar made from the same body fabric create a natural line when worn. Traditional Tenchi single-needle construction allows for gradual twisting and puckering with wear, while the Japanese hand-printing technique “Tenassen” introduces slight variations in each piece. Rather than pursuing perfect uniformity, the garment embraces a quiet balance found within natural imperfection, designed to be worn, aged, and kept over time.
